One of our founding boatwrights, Will Zacker, works on a coracle to paddle with his young daughter.
The coracle needs to be a bit longer to accommodate two people, one in front and one to the rear. It will also need to be a little deeper, so as to contain the boisterous young one a little more reliably. Traditional materials will be used, ash and oak for the basketry, and canvas and bitumen for the skin.
Will may add some neoprene floatation between the skin and the basket around the coaming to help prevent capsize and also keep it floating in such an event.
